Improvisations done to passenger elevators

The major focus of this blog is over passenger elevators and the improvements done to them to improve the overall experience of the passengers to enhance their safety. There is host of features which are now added to the lifts and elevators especially made for the passenger lifts some of them are mentioned as follows:

1)      Double decker lifts:  This is a new feature that we see in the high speed passenger lifts of skyscrapers and corporate buildings. These lifts are generally used at buildings such as commercial places where there is a lot of traffic of people round o'clock.

The advantage of having a double decker lift is that it can cater to people in two floors simultaneously and also has proven to be twice as efficient as compared to the conventional passenger elevators produced by majority of the passenger lift manufacturers in India. Even people are accustomed to this by knowing that one of the lifts stops at the odd number of floors and the other one stops at the even floors and hence there is efficient routing of all people and also the wait time is reduced dramatically. Such lifts being heavy duty have a larger capacity of load taking ability and also high speed elevators.

2)      Front and end door: We have also noticed these days that in some of the buildings that the door from where we get into the elevators is not the one from which we have to get out of it. These are double door elevators which are good for the space management and also a fashionable option these  days to implement something different other than the conventional old school lifts andelevators

3)      There are also televisions and digital signage boards streaming multimedia for the entertainment and also to circulate information and announcements to the passengers in the lifts. These are some features which are only used in the lifts which carry people. 

4)      There is also a code blue for the passenger lifts that we see in the hospitals this is for the emergency condition patients, once this code blue is on the lift performs differently so as to give importance and set the priorities accordingly to the case which is an emergency. 

Apart from the safety and the necessity facilities which are anyways present on the elevators these are some of the newly added features that we see these days incorporated not only by the passenger lift manufacturers in Mumbai but all over India and the rest of the world.
